Job Description

The OpportunityWe are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist (Back Office) to support day-to-day billing operations and back-office revenue cycle workflows. This person will play a critical role in ensuring claims are submitted accurately, denials are worked efficiently, and billing-related operational tasks are completed on time.This is primarily a back-office execution role. The ideal candidate has strong medical billing fundamentals, is detail-oriented, and is comfortable working in a high-volume, process-driven environment. This role will partner closely with client-facing RCM team members and escalate more complex issues as needed.What You’ll DoSubmit and track medical claims across payer channelsWork claim rejections, denials, and unpaid claims through to resolutionInvestigate payer issues and perform follow-up on claim statusSupport manual billing workflows and operational tasks required to keep accounts movingMaintain billing accuracy across documentation, coding inputs, and claim submission workflowsIdentify patterns in denials or billing failures and flag them to the broader RCM teamSupport onboarding-related billing setup tasks for new provider accountsDocument work clearly and maintain organized records of claim actions and follow-upsEscalate complex reimbursement, payer, or workflow issues to client-facing RCM team membersHelp improve SOPs and contribute to scalable billing operations over timeWhat We’re Looking For2+ years of experience in medical billing, claims management, or revenue cycle operationsStrong familiarity with denial management, claims follow-up, and payer workflowsExperience working with US healthcare billing processesHigh attention to detail and strong task ownershipComfort working through repetitive but important operational workflowsStrong written English and ability to communicate clearly with internal teamsAbility to work independently and manage a queue of tasks efficientlyExperience in pharmacy, physician billing, or ambulatory care settings is a plusExperience with back-office healthcare operations teams is a plusSuccess in This Role Looks LikeClaims are submitted accurately and on timeDenials and unpaid claims are worked quickly and thoroughlyBacklogs are reduced and turnaround times improveClient-facing RCM team members are freed up to focus on provider relationships and escalationsBilling operations become more reliable and scalable as account volume growsAbout MedMe HealthAt MedMe, we are passionate about empowering pharmacists to provide services beyond just prescribing.
