**Overview** We are seeking a detail\-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage comprehensive bookkeeping functions, ensure accurate payroll processing, and maintain the integrity of our financial records. Your expertise will support our organization’s financial health, compliance with accounting standards, and smooth operational workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission\-driven organization that values precision, transparency, and proactive financial management. **Duties** * Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation. * Process payroll efficiently using leading payroll software, ensuring timely salary payments and compliance with tax regulations. * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely vendor payments and client invoicing. * Reconcile bank statements regularly through bank reconciliation procedures to verify account accuracy. * Prepare detailed financial reports, including budgeting summaries, financial statements, and audit documentation. * Utilize accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, and other financial software to record transactions following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). * Conduct governmental accounting tasks when applicable, ensuring adherence to public sector standards and tax regulations. **Requirements** * Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing within a professional setting; familiarity with public or non\-profit accounting is a plus. * Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits \& credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation. * Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Sage, Xero, and other financial systems. * Ability to perform detailed account analysis using spreadsheets and financial report writing skills. * Experience with governmental or non\-profit accounting standards is advantageous. * Excellent understanding of GAAP principles along with technical accounting skills related to account reconciliation and financial reporting. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as bank reconciliation, tax preparation support, and budget analysis efficiently. * High proficiency in 10\-key typing for accurate data entry; experience with payroll software is essential.
