Our environment prioritizes collaboration, attention to detail, and strong communication.Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Insurance Benefits & Eligibility Verification & Authorization Specialist. The ideal candidate can follow directions accurately and consistently prioritize calling insurance providers rather than relying solely on online portals.This role focuses on front-end medical billing processes, specifically insurance benefits verification, eligibility checks, and submission of authorization requests. The ideal candidate has relevant medical experience, strong attention to detail, a high standard for accuracy, and is comfortable handling insurance-related phone calls regularly.Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance Verification (Phone-Based Required):Contact insurance providers to verify coverage, benefits, and requirementsPerform phone verification especially for all first-time patient visits (portal-only verification is not sufficient)Document all verification details, including representative name and reference numberFollow required verification procedures without exceptionPrior Authorization Management:Initiate, submit, and follow up on prior authorization requestsTrack authorization status and ensure timely updatesMaintain accurate documentation of approvals and pending requestsProcess Compliance & Data Handling Follow established verification workflows and protocolsRetrieve missing or incomplete information from patient charts when neededMaintain and update tracking spreadsheets for verifications and authorizationsRequirementsAtleast 2 years of direct experience handling Benefits & Eligibility verification for U.S. healthcare providersStrong experience in insurance verification and prior authorizations, preferably in PT/OT/Speech Therapy is a plusExcellent attention to detail and willingness to follow specific protocolsComfortable making frequent insurance callsProficient in Google Sheets or ExcelExperience in medical billing or revenue cycle management is highly valuedBackground in Physical Therapy or Orthopedics is a plusFamiliarity with Prompt (EMR) is a plusBasic requirementsMust be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearlyMust have relevant work experienceBe able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)Technical requirementsDevice: Reliable laptop or desktop computer.Internet: High-speed connection (minimum 25 Mbps).Audio: Noise-canceling headset.Video: Webcam for virtual meetings.Workspace: Quiet, professional environment.BenefitsDedicated HR & Contractor Support Team: Access to world-class support for questions, guidance, contract matters, and client communication.Premium VPN Access (Optional): A secure VPN license can be provided upon request to enhance privacy and security for client-related tasks.HIPAA & Cybersecurity Training + Certification (Provided): Access to our internal HIPAA compliance training, cybersecurity modules, and certification to help you confidently handle PHI for U.S. healthcare clients.Top 1% VA Performance Training: Access to our proprietary training on communication, client management, productivity systems, and best practices to help you become a top-performing VA and increase long-term client retention.Client-Approved U.S. Holidays: Contractors may take U.S. holidays off according to the client’s needs and schedule.Client-Approved Paid or Unpaid Time Off: Time off may be granted by your client.
