This role requires strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration, virtual machines, and core operating system services supporting production application workloads. Success in this role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering stable and performant Linux infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesLinux Administration: Install, configure, and manage Linux servers and virtual machines across customer environments.System Support: Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu systems, ensuring stability and performance of production workloads.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Linux operating system and network performance issues supporting application servers, including issues related to CPU, memory, disk, and network utilization.System Services Management: Manage Linux system services, processes, permissions, and package management.Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts using Bash and/or other scripting languages to support automation and operational tasks.Incident Response: Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents, working outside standard business hours for maintenance, project work, or incident response as required.Collaboration: Work collaboratively as part of an engineering team while also operating independently in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.Experience: Demonstrated experience working as a Linux system administrator in an MSP, enterprise IT, or similar production environment.Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration and virtual machines; proficiency with RHEL and Ubuntu; solid understanding of Linux system services, processes, permissions, and package management; scripting capability using Bash and/or other scripting languages.Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach; willingness to work outside standard business hours as required.Language: Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.Preferred QualificationsVirtualization & Cloud: Experience supporting Linux systems running on virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, and cloud-based platforms (AWS, Google Compute, Azure).Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools used in Linux environments.Documentation: Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedures.Configuration Management: Exposure to configuration management or automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Application Support: Experience supporting Linux-based application stacks in production environments.Work Arrangement & ScheduleFully remote; employees are expected in-office 1–2 times per month for team engagement activities.4x10 compressed workweek — 4 days per week, 10 hours per day.
