Accountant

**Job Summary** We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting\-edge financial software and systems, while making a meaningful impact on our organization’s success. **Responsibilities** * Prepare and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). * Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and QuickBooks. * Conduct month\-end closing activities, including account analysis and financial statement preparation. * Support internal controls by adhering to SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) requirements and assisting with audits. * Perform data entry tasks involving high\-volume spreadsheets and accounting systems while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. * Reconcile accounts regularly through detailed account analysis and double entry bookkeeping practices. * Assist in budgeting processes and provide insights through Excel data analysis for management decision\-making. * Handle payroll management tasks in collaboration with payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro, ensuring timely processing of employee payments. * Support governmental accounting functions and non\-profit accounting activities as needed. * Maintain excellent customer service by responding promptly to internal inquiries related to financial data or account status. **Qualifications** * Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits \& credits, journal entries, and the general ledger. * Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or similar systems. * Knowledge of GAAP standards and experience working within SOX compliance frameworks. * Strong technical accounting skills with experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet review, and month\-end closing procedures. * Ability to perform Excel data analysis efficiently using spreadsheets for reporting and audit purposes. * Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate bookkeeping and data entry tasks. * Experience in payroll processing using systems like ADP or UltiPro is preferred. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly. * Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support customer service efforts related to financial inquiries.
