Account Reconciliation Specialist

**Job Summary** We are seeking a detail\-oriented and proactive Account Reconciliation Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records through meticulous account reconciliation processes. Your expertise will support compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP, SOX, and governmental regulations, while leveraging advanced financial software tools. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization by maintaining precise ledger accounts, analyzing discrepancies, and supporting audit readiness. **Duties** * Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries. * Review and analyze account transactions to identify discrepancies or anomalies, ensuring all entries align with established financial concepts and internal controls. * Utilize accounting software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to process data entry and maintain accurate records. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to resolve reconciling items promptly and accurately. * Prepare detailed journal entries and supporting documentation for month\-end closing activities. * Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary reconciliation reports and explanations of variances. * Support compliance initiatives related to SOX controls and other regulatory requirements through thorough documentation and process adherence. **Requirements** * Proven experience in account reconciliation within corporate or governmental accounting environments. * Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX compliance, and financial concepts. * Proficiency with accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, Sage, Xero, or similar systems. * Familiarity with payroll management systems like Paychex or ADP is a plus. * Experience with financial analysis tools including QuickBooks, Quicken, or similar platforms. * Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing and double\-entry bookkeeping is preferred. * Ability to interpret complex financial data and perform account analysis confidently. * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple reconciliation tasks efficiently. * Knowledge of governmental accounting standards or non\-profit accounting practices is advantageous.
