The Corporate Tax Dept is responsible for managing all aspects of U.S. property tax compliance for multiple legal entities.What You Will DoDevelop vision and strategy for RTX’s property tax functionReview and approve complex property tax returns including Freeport Exemptions and Tax Abatements, business personal property and real estate valuationsReview complex business personal property and real estate tax assessments and oversee tax appeal positionsReview real estate tax appraisal reports and make recommendations on appealsProperty Tax planningIdentify property tax risks and opportunities in business transactionsDevelop personal property and real estate managerManage external consultants on property tax compliance and real estate valuationsManage professional fees budgetManage and communicate property tax compliance requirements for S4 Hana implementation and other tax technology projectsOversee property tax process standardization and documentationQualifications You Must Have Typically requires a University degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience in business personal property tax compliance, audit and commercial real estate valuation, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experienceCandidate must have strong knowledge of multi-state tax regulations and possess a comprehensive understanding of the property tax compliance functionAbility to lead and develop a team of tax professionals in a fast-paced environmentCMI, CPA, MAI or other similar accreditation desiredAbility to travel as necessary (5-10%)Experience with Property Tax Management Software “PTMS” is requiredProficient in Excel, Word and PowerPointPrior leadership experience managing a teamQualifications We PreferCandidate must have the ability to independently manage multiple projects and be able to prioritize and complete competing tasks in a timely and efficient mannerThe ideal candidate is pro-active with excellent verbal/written communication, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skillsExperience with ERP systems.
