Job Description

**Job Summary** We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Staff Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help drive accurate financial analysis, streamline accounting operations, and uphold the highest standards of financial integrity within our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission\-driven organization committed to excellence in financial management and compliance. **Duties** * Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. * Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month\-end closing procedures. * Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and review accounts payable and receivable to maintain precise financial records. * Oversee accounts payable processes and ensure timely payments while maintaining vendor relationships. * Perform cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic decision\-making. * Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory standards, including LIHTC (Low\-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations where applicable. * Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, conducting audit procedures, and implementing audit recommendations. * Utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms for data entry, reporting, and analysis. * Analyze financial data using Excel functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and advanced formulas to generate insightful reports. * Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations. * Mentor junior team members in technical accounting practices while fostering a collaborative team environment. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. * Extensive experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP principles. * Proven expertise in technical accounting areas such as SEC reporting, regulatory compliance accounting, or governmental accounting. * Familiarity with financial software including PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Quicken or similar platforms. * Strong knowledge of double\-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation processes, and general ledger management. * Experience working with SOX controls and LIHTC regulations is highly desirable. * Proficiency in Excel data analysis techniques including VLOOKUP functions, pivot tables, and financial modeling. * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports accurately. * Dem
