Staff Corporate Accountant

**Job Summary** We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Staff Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission\-driven organization committed to excellence in financial management and compliance. **Duties** * Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. * Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month\-end closing procedures. * Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and review accounts payable and receivable to maintain precise financial records. * Oversee accounts payable processes and ensure timely payments while maintaining vendor relationships. * Perform cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic decision\-making. * Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory standards, including LIHTC (Low\-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations where applicable. * Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, conducting audit procedures, and implementing audit recommendations. * Utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms for data entry, reporting, and analysis. * Analyze financial data using Excel functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and advanced formulas to generate insightful reports. * Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations. * Mentor junior team members in technical accounting practices while fostering a collaborative team environment. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. * Extensive experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP principles. * Proven expertise in technical accounting areas such as SEC reporting, regulatory compliance accounting, or governmental accounting. * Familiarity with financial software including PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Quicken or similar platforms. * Strong knowledge of double\-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation processes, and general ledger management. * Experience working with SOX controls and LIHTC regulations is highly desirable. * Proficiency in Excel data analysis techniques including VLOOKUP functions, pivot tables, and financial modeling. * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports accurately. * Dem
