Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.The Program Supplier Assurance Engineer (PSQE) is the primary quality interface between Raytheon programs and Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineers, Commodity Leads, and our supply base. The PSAE provides both communication of requirements and performance feedback to the supplier as well as being a conduit for Quality information across other Raytheon teams. This role involves significant onsite support for the execution of Supplier Assessments, First Article Inspection verification, Source Inspection, problem resolution, and continuous improvement activities at supplier locations. This position is a key player in the management of Supplier performance and planning for supplier engagements to represent Raytheon’s Vision, Values, Strategy, and Goals in the supply base.What you will do:Ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and Statements of Work.Interpret and explain these requirements to ensure supply base both understands and complies with these quality requirements.Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including: Root Cause Corrective Actions, Statistical/analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies.Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes related to supplier performance and implementation of necessary engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes.Perform defect data analysis and review with the program managers and supplier management, which will assist in developing Supplier improvement plansLead and participate in multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on six sigma, lean practices and other analytical improvement methods and toolsIdentify and document supplier risk; develop mitigation plans to reduce, eliminate and prevent supplied product defectsSupport containment activities associated with discrepant material, with assistance from functional stakeholdersDrive the supplier corrective action process, review, approval and monitoring; assure containment, closed loop Root Cause Corrective Action is obtained; communicate issue and resolution to functional stakeholdersYou should anticipate some travel (Up to 25%) to support supplier assessments, audits, reviews at supplier locations.You will represent quality during review boards covering changes: supplier designs, process changes, qualification tests, and procedure reviews.Qualifications you must have:Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.Experience with one or more of the following Quality Management standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.Previous experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.Experience implementing modern Quality Assurance and Control methodologies such as Statistical Process Controls (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Continuous Improvement in a supplier setting.Previous experience generating and presenting to leadership and suppliers key metrics and performance reviews.The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
