Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:Parsons is looking for a talented Principal Project Engineer - Bridge to join our team full-time to support one of the many large transformative transportation projects that we have either won, are currently pursuing, or will pursue across the nation.Some of the larger projects are located in the states of:TennesseeGeorgiaNorth CarolinaVirginiaIndianaIn this role, you will help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion, and in turn assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors.This position is remote, and the selected candidate will have flexibility in work location while still supporting virtual collaboration with Parsons teams.Parsons is one of the premier design-build firms in the country with over 16,000 employees worldwide and nearly $7 Billion in revenue. Most recently, we have been the engineer of record or have assisted on some of the most challenging projects in the country, including:the Gordie Howe Bridge near Detroit, MIthe Clear Path projects in Indianapolis, INBrent Spence project in Cincinnati, OHthe SR 400 project in Atlanta, GAThese high-visibility Design-Build and Public Private Partnership "P3" projects and many others are career defining opportunities and offer complex, challenging work for our entire professional staff and new hires, who work seamlessly together from offices across the country.What You'll Be Doing:Developing the scope of work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned bridge project elements, and monitoring progress to meet schedule/budget requirementsPerform conventional and complex (long-span, post-tensioned, cable-stayed, or highly skewed) bridge engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accuratelyInterfacing with Procurement and Subcontracts to facilitate coordination with vendors/subcontractorsParticipating in quantity analysis to help determine project costsReviewing and directing the use of applicable design criteria, codes, standards, and procedures in development of project documentsMonitoring productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel for task completionCoordinating allocation of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project and assigning personnel from other technical support groups Assisting the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or studyParticipating in definition of the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the projectEnsuring client criteria/scope are met by all engineering disciplinesExpediting distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client/Project ManagerUnderstanding the client's business goals to enhance the project workPreparing technical calculations, reports and documentation of activity for the client and project managementActing as Project Manager's deputy for certain activities, such as attending meetings in his/her absence, etc.Mentoring technical staff in their career developmentObtaining, analyzing, and circulating technical and contractual information to project disciplinesReviewing and approving change orders – Notifying project management and other affected personnel of all changesParticipating regularly in decision-making meetings with the client and project managementProviding oversight and quality control reviews of project documentsLeading task force meetings for project developmentWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:Professional Engineer License requiredQualified to serve as a Bridge Design Task Lead on projects12-15+ years of bridge engineering experienceDegree in Civil Engineering with Structural EmphasisPrevious supervisory experience in a project engineering roleExcellent written and oral communications skills with thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulationsExperience in development of RFP responses for traditional public sector workThorough understanding of current technology and ability to appropriately apply appropriate engineering software for project useWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:Master's Degree preferableCapable of hiring and building support team to complete projectSecurity Clearance Requirement:NoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
