Accountant

**Overview** We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization committed to excellence in financial management. **Duties** * Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double\-entry bookkeeping and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). * Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to maintain precise financial records. * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using software such as Paychex, ADP, or QuickBooks. * Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to verify data integrity across multiple accounting systems like PeopleSoft, Xero, Sage, or Ceridian. * Support payroll management activities including data entry and processing through Kronos or UltiPro platforms. * Assist with month\-end closing procedures, including ledger review and financial statement preparation. * Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining high standards of data accuracy and security. * Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting, tax compliance, and audit preparations to ensure regulatory adherence. * Utilize advanced Excel data analysis skills for reporting, forecasting, and identifying financial trends. **Qualifications** * Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate and governmental accounting environments. * Strong knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits \& credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and balance sheet management. * Proficiency with financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, Workday or similar platforms. * Experience handling SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) compliance controls is preferred. * Excellent numeracy skills combined with the ability to perform detailed data entry and spreadsheet analysis using Microsoft Office tools like Excel. * Knowledge of GAAP standards and experience with public accounting practices is advantageous. * Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in account reconciliation and financial reporting. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast\-paced environment. * Excellent communication skills paired with customer service orientation to collaborate across departments effectively.
