Our teams deliver the Holman Experience by treating our customers and each other as we would like to be treated, and creating positive, rewarding relationships all around.The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.Job Responsibilities: Technical Leadership:Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the database development team.Design, develop, and optimize database systems to meet business requirements.Recommends improvements to the database architecture and design to enhance scalability, availability, and security.Collaborates with the DevOps team to automate database deployments and integrate with CI/CD pipelinesDocumentation:Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems and processes.Innovation:Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices, and implement improvements as needed.Database development support: Focus on providing database development support which includes;Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability. Work closely with software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate database solutions with applicationsPerform code reviews to support Database developmentPerform database deploymentsOptimize database queries and stored procedures for maximum efficiency and performanceDevelops complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views to support business logic and application functionalityPerforms data modeling, including designing schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships, for both transactional and analytical use casesProvides support for troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues reported by application teamsWorks closely with application developers to integrate database systems with applications and ensure efficient data flowAzure Cloud Database Management:Configures and manages Azure Databases, including automated backups, replication, and high-availability optionsImplements and manages database security, including encryption, access controls, and auditing, to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.Ensures disaster recovery strategies are in place, including point-in-time restore and geo-replication for Azure SQL DatabaseStays current with Azure database services and industry trends, incorporating new features and best practices as appropriateGeneral Database support:Provides off-hours support when requiredProvides on-site disaster recovery assistance when requiredPerform all other duties and special projects as assignedEducation and/or Training:Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experienceAdditional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plusProficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)Azure AZ900, DP900, DP-300 training requiredAzure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly preferredRelevant Work Experience:Minimum 5 years tenure as a Database Administrator Experienced with relational architecture and Data WarehouseMinimum 3 years' experience with installing, configuring, and supporting Oracle and/or SQL server database environmentsExperience with Azure SQL database environments.Understanding of Azure ecosystem and database services like Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Key Vault, etc.Must be well versed with database procedures to include: installation, configuration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and SQL statement tuningExperience using ETL tools to document and move data as neededExperienced with Linux operating system and shell scriptingExperienced with Windows Server operating systemsExperienced with scripting languages and automation tools a plus (AI tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and ARM templates)At Holman, we exist to provide rewarding careers and better lives for employees and their families.
