Job Description

**QA Automation Engineer II** **Department** Quality Assurance **Reports To** QA Manager **Location** Chicago, IL or Remote (US) **Role Overview** The QA Automation Engineer II plays a central role in strengthening automated test coverage and quality practices across our TMS. This is a heavy automation and AI role: you'll use AI daily as your default way of working, not as an occasional aid, paired with the judgment to validate what it produces rather than simply trust it. You'll also help establish AI\-assisted testing as a standard practice across the broader QA team, working alongside our QA Analysts as a peer. This is deliberately not a developer role, and it's not a fit for someone who assumes they already know better than the team and process they're joining. We're looking for someone who cares about getting this right, wants to learn our TMS and Salesforce platform well enough to have real opinions about both, and brings genuine curiosity and process discipline to the table. **Responsibilities** * Serve as the standing review function for automated test coverage across the TMS, an ongoing part of the job every time new coverage is added, not a one\-time audit. * Flag unreliable, flaky, or false\-positive tests, including AI\-generated tests, before they're trusted as real regression signal. * Maintain and extend automated test coverage for Revenova's Salesforce\-native TMS, working within the approach and priorities the QA Manager sets. * Use AI tools daily as the default way of working: generating test cases from a spec, maintaining and refactoring existing suites, and accelerating review of test output. * Build deep familiarity with the TMS and the underlying Salesforce platform. * Champion AI\-assisted testing as a required practice across the QA team, working directly alongside QA Analysts as the foundation for how that practice gets established and maintained, not as something offered only to whoever happens to be curious. **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications** * Daily, hands\-on use of AI tools in real testing work is required, not a bonus. Claude, Copilot, Cursor, or similar. You can point to specific, concrete examples of how it changed your output, such as coverage reached faster or manual maintenance reduced. * The judgment to validate AI output, not just produce it. You can spot the failure mode where an AI\-generated test passes without asserting anything meaningful, or where AI\-assisted review misses a real defect. * 2\-4 years of hands\-on experience writing and maintaining automated tests (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java), within an AI\-assisted workflow. Not required to have built an automation framework from scratch. * Experience reviewing or auditing another engineer's or team's test automation code, including AI\-generated test code, with the judgment to explain whether it's good. * API and integration testing experience; able to identify which layer a given risk belongs t
