Staff Accountant - Contract

Our Media \& Communications client is seeking a Temporary Staff Accountant to join its collaborative and fast\-paced finance team. This hybrid opportunity is primarily remote, with occasional onsite meetings in the DC area. The ideal candidate is detail\-oriented, proactive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while contributing to key month\-end and audit activities. ### **What You'll Do** * Support month\-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations * Partner with accounting operations teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting * Assist with royalty accounting activities, including contract review and system validation * Prepare audit support schedules and respond to ad hoc audit requests * Analyze financial data and help improve reporting accuracy and efficiency * Collaborate cross\-functionally with finance and accounting team members on special projects and ongoing initiatives ### **What We're Looking For** * 2\+ years of progressive accounting experience * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) * Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics is a plus * Experience working with large data sets and complex financial systems * Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills * Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines with accuracy and professionalism
