Job Type: Full Time Work Model: Remote Location: New York City metro area About the Role Ragan Communications is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership at Ragan Communications, the leading media and training brand for communicators and marketers. This is a high-impact, high-trust leadership role supporting a CEO leading a fast-growing, media and learning company. The Executive Assistant will act as a force multiplier, protecting the CEO’s time, anticipating needs, enabling strategic focus and ensuring seamless execution across executive priorities. This role is ideal for a mid-level or senior career Executive Assistant who thrives in fast-paced environments, exercises exceptional judgment and wants to play a central role in the success of a growth-oriented CEO and leadership team. Core Responsibilities CEO Strategic PartnershipServe as a trusted thought partner and operational extension of the CEOAnticipate priorities, pressure points and opportunitiesProactively surface risks, conflicts, and decision deadlinesAct as a confidential sounding board and strategic support resourceTime, Calendar & Priority ManagementOwn end-to-end management of the CEO’s calendarPrioritize meetings to ensure time is spent on the highest-value activitiesDesign daily, weekly, and monthly rhythms that optimize CEO effectivenessGatekeep requests and meeting flow with strong judgmentExecutive Leadership & Team EnablementManage agendas, timelines, materials, and follow-up actionsCapture ideas, organize notes and manage deadlines for speeches and projectsTrack strategic initiatives and executive-level commitmentsSupport the cadence of executive leadership meetingsTrack decisions, priorities and follow-throughEnsure alignment and clarity across senior leadershipCoordinate executive offsites, planning sessions, and strategic meetingsTravel, Events & External EngagementManage travel logistics, itineraries and preparation materialsPrepare executive briefings for all trips, meetings, and eventsSupport major Ragan conferences and leadership appearancesMaximize relationship ROI for speaking engagements, partner meetings and industry eventsOperations & Special ProjectsOwn special projects that require confidentiality, discretion, and execution rigorManage cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the CEOMaintain executive dashboards, tracking systems, and workflowsIdeal Candidate Profile Experience & Background7+ years supporting a CEO, founder, or senior executiveExperience in media, professional services, consulting, technology, or similar environments preferredBachelor’s degree requiredCore Capabilities & ExpectationsExceptional judgment and emotional intelligenceStrong written and verbal communicationAdvanced calendar and priority management skillsHigh discretion and confidentialityProactive, anticipatory mindsetAbility to meet in person in NYC or CT at least 1x/month; other travel is required (3-4/year)Personal AttributesExecutive presencePolished, confident, and professionalNaturally organized and detail-orientedStrategic thinker who enjoys solving problemsThrives in fast-paced, high-performance environmentsComfortable saying no on behalf of the CEOWhy This Role Is Special This is not a traditional Executive Assistant role.
