Job Description

We are looking for a Dari & Pashto speaking loan assistant to join our team and contribute to our mission. The loan officer assistant will be responsible for supporting the loan officer in the origination and processing of loans. This will include collecting and verifying customer information, preparing loan documents, and coordinating with other departments to ensure a smooth loan process. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Duties & ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for loan applicants, providing them with information about loan products, eligibility requirements, and application processesGather and review required documentation from loan applicants, including tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements, and credit reportsPerform initial analysis of loan applications to determine if applicants meet minimum qualificationsForward complete loan applications to loan officers for further review and approvalCommunicate loan decisions to applicants in a timely and professional mannerMaintain up-to-date knowledge of all loan products offered by the bankAssist loan officers with preparing loan documents for closingAttend loan closings to ensure that all documents are signed and notarized correctlyFollow up with loan officers and applicants after loan closing to ensure that all post-closing conditions have been meMonitor loans throughout the life of the loan to ensure timely payment of principal and interestWork with delinquent borrowers to develop repayment plansCoordinate with other departments within the bank to resolve any issues that may arise during the loan processRequired Skills and QualificationsTrilingual (English/Dari/Pashto)High school diploma or equivalent1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a financial institutionBasic math skillsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and with a teamProficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systemsPreferred Skills and QualificationsSome college coursework completed1-2 years of experience in the loan processing or mortgage industryExperience with Encompass or other loan origination softwareNMLS licenseOriginally posted on Himalayas
