We are a general contracting company, and we would like to bring our take-offs inhouse. We are looking to fill 2 positions!We are looking to hire a Take Off Specialist for our HVAC and Plumbing Divisions:HVAC Takeoff SpecialistAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced HVAC Takeoff Specialist to support our estimating team by reviewing construction plans, performing accurate material and labor quantity takeoffs, and assisting in bid preparation.The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of HVAC systems, exceptional attention to detail, and experience with digital takeoff tools. This role helps ensure competitive bids and accurate project costing.Key ResponsibilitiesReview HVAC plans, mechanical drawings, and specificationsPerform detailed HVAC quantity takeoffs (ductwork, piping, equipment, vents, diffusers, fittings, insulation, etc.)Use estimating/takeoff software to measure, quantify, and document material requirementsPrepare takeoff spreadsheets and submit results to the estimating teamCoordinate with estimators to clarify project scope and design intentMaintain project files, revisions, and takeoff documentationAssist in vendor quotation requests and pricing updatesMeet deadlines and ensure extremely high accuracyQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferredMinimum 2 years experience in HVAC estimating or draftingStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, materials, and installation standardsProficiency in blueprint reading (mechanical sheets, schedules, and specs)Experience with digital takeoff software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Trimble, etc.)Excellent organization, math, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyPreferred ExperienceCommercial and residential HVAC projectsFamiliarity with US construction standardsExposure to design-build mechanical environmentsPlumbing Take Off SpecialistAbout the RoleWe are hiring a Plumbing Takeoff Specialist to support pre-construction and estimating by providing detailed plumbing material takeoffs. You will evaluate plumbing and site utility plans, quantify materials, and assist with bid documentation.This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent plan interpretation skills, and accuracy in preparing takeoff data.Key ResponsibilitiesReview plumbing drawings, riser diagrams, and project specificationsPerform complete plumbing material takeoffs including:Piping and fittings (PEX, copper, PVC, cast iron, etc.)Valves, fixtures, traps, hangers, supportsDomestic water systems, sanitary, storm, vent systemsUse digital takeoff tools to prepare accurate quantity sheetsSupport estimators with bid summaries and vendor outreachTrack plan revisions and maintain organized takeoff recordsCommunicate with team regarding drawing discrepancies or clarificationsEnsure timely completion of takeoffs for bidding deadlinesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline preferredMinimum 2 years experience in plumbing estimating, drafting, or field experienceStrong understanding of plumbing systems and materialsProficiency in reading plumbing plans and specificationsSoftware experience with takeoff tools (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Trimble, etc.)Strong analytical and documentation skillsAbility to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple deadlinesPreferred ExperienceWaste, vent, and domestic water system estimatingFire sprinkler and gas line takeoffs (plus but not required)Knowledge of US codes and project submittal requirements⭐ Bonus Skills for Both RolesExperience in MEP tradesFamiliarity with estimating databases/assembliesUnderstanding of labor and materials pricingBoth positions are full time100% Remote Work$8/hrOriginally posted on Himalayas
