**Overview** Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Bookkeeper and play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records across diverse accounting functions. If you thrive on detail, accuracy, and efficiency, this role is perfect for you! **Duties** * Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks using leading accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken to ensure accurate data entry and record keeping. * Prepare and process journal entries, including debits \& credits, to maintain the integrity of the general ledger. * Conduct bank reconciliations and account analysis to verify transaction accuracy across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank statements. * Support balance sheet reconciliation efforts by reviewing asset, liability, and equity accounts regularly. * Manage accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments. * Assist with payroll processing and related tax compliance activities to ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). * Contribute to financial report writing by compiling data for internal reports or external audits; support budgeting processes as needed. * Perform general ledger accounting tasks including month\-end closing procedures and account reconciliation to uphold financial integrity. * Support governmental accounting requirements by understanding specific regulations and preparing necessary documentation. * Maintain meticulous records of journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit trails for transparency and compliance. **Experience** * Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with financial software is essential. * Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts including debits \& credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting. * Prior experience in corporate or non\-profit accounting environments is highly desirable; familiarity with governmental accounting is a plus. * Knowledge of GAAP standards and experience with balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis. * Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry accuracy. * Demonstrated ability to handle accounts payable/receivable processes along with payroll support. * Basic tax experience related to financial transactions or reporting is advantageous. * Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to perform account reconciliation accurately under deadlines. * Strong communication skills for clear documentation of financ
