Drive performance excellence through goal-setting, quality feedback, and performance appraisals within the team (midyear and annual).Create a working environment where productivity can be sustained and accomplished, and where innovation and personal growth is encouraged and realized.Refer matters beyond limits of authority and expertise to manager for directionDrive and role model the A&H culture, values and C&F core competencies within their teams.Experience AnalysisCreate and maintain profitability analyses and reviews for all product linesAnalyze program experience and develop appropriate corrective actionsCreate analyses for underwriters and senior management in support of new and existing programsAssist in the due diligence of potential new programsAssist underwriting in the preparation of experience rating and provide actuarial guidance on risk selectionPerform ad-hoc analyses as directedCreate, maintain and update existing experience analysis tools and modelsPricing and ReservingDevelop rating support and memorandums for submission to state Department of InsuranceManage and respond to filing objections`Familiarity with state regulations and requirements for rate filingsAnalyze and review industry manualsDevelop underwriting guidelines – credibility tables, completion factors, and experience ratingProduce rating and portfolio management tools for underwritersLeverage internal dashboards to assist underwriters and recommend pricing adjustmentsAssist in the preparation of monthly reserve reviewsPrepare recommendations for reserve changesWhat YOU will bring to C&F:Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and professionallyFlexible and open to an ever-changing, fast-paced environment, based on the value of the business to the division and direction of managerAbility to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a group in a dynamic environment.Strong research, decision-making, and analytical skillsMeticulous with a high degree of accuracy and ability to multitaskRequirements:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience requiredAt least 15+ years of Actuarial experienceFellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)3+ years prior people management experienceStrong Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Access, and some programming skills (SQL, SAS, VBA)Must abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&F’s risk management controlsAbility to travel (20-30%)What C&F will bring to youCompetitive compensation packageGenerous 401K employer matchEmployee Stock Purchase plan with employer matchingGenerous Paid Time OffExcellent benefits that go beyond health, dental & vision.
