Accounting Specialist

Ames, IA area (Story City, Boone, or surrounding central Iowa communities) Compensation: $50,000 \- $62,000 base salary \+ bonus opportunity Schedule: Full\-time \| Hybrid \- primarily remote, 1\-2 days/week onsite in Story City Experience level: Entry\-level and experienced candidates welcome **ABOUT THE ROLE** Looking for a detail\-oriented, self\-starting accounting support specialist to join our growing team in central Iowa. This is a hands\-on operational accounting role \- customer invoicing, AP/AR processing, cash collections, payroll confirmations \- not complex financial reporting. Higher\-level functions like P\&L and balance sheets are handled by our corporate team. Recent grads, candidates early in their careers, and experienced bookkeepers or administrative professionals comfortable with data\-heavy tasks are all encouraged to apply. **WHAT YOU'LL DO** **BillingAccounts Receivable** * Create and send customer invoices through AccuLynx and Sage * Process payments, track collections, and follow up on outstanding balances * Reconcile AR aging and coordinate with sales and project management on billing status * Assist with insurance claim payment tracking and documentation **Accounts PayableVendor Management** * Enter and code vendor invoices in Sage; process check, ACH, and credit card payments * Track subcontractor invoices and maintain vendor records (W\-9s, certificates of insurance) * Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies **Payroll, CommissionsAdmin Support** * Confirm payroll data and assist with commission calculations * Handle incoming mail and emails, routing items to the right team members * Support month\-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance \- Help with additional tasks across the business during slower periods \- cross\-training is encouraged **WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR** \- Detail\-oriented and accountable \- you catch errors before they become problems * Comfortable with repetitive, data\-heavy administrative work * Self\-starter who takes ownership without needing constant direction * Team player willing to pitch in outside your core duties * Coachable and open to learning our systems * 1\-3\+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, AR/AP, or administrative finance experience preferred (new grads with relevant coursework considered) * Proficient in Microsoft Excel * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred **COMPENSATIONBENEFITS** * $50,000\-$62,000 base salary \+ KPI\-based bonus * Hybrid work schedule (1\-2 days onsite per week, rest remote) * Medical, dental, visionsupplemental insurance * Paid time off and paid holidays * Growth opportunity within a \~$10M and rapidly expanding business * Cross\-training opportunities across operations **ABOUT WADDLE EXTERIORS
