Wayne, INPhoenix, AZJOB SUMMARYThis opportunity is for Military personnel participating in the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program. Ideally, the SkillBridge will be a minimum of 90 days in length. DLB is able to accommodate up to the full 180-day program and we will consider durations less than 90 days. This role provides technical support in the inspection, validation, and functional testing of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.The SkillBridge - Data Center Commissioning Field Technician will develop a deeper understanding of commissioning procedures, engage with vendors and project teams, will rely on instructions and take ownership of specific testing tasks under immediate supervision. They are expected to demonstrate increasing autonomy, problem-solving skills, and initiative in executing commissioning tasks.The SkillBridge - Data Center Commissioning Field Technician will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform On-site Inspection, Validation, Testing and Verification of Electrical and Mechanical Equipment (50%)Participate in factory witness testingObserve startup activitiesUse technical equipment to perform testingPerform functional testing of equipment and electrical, mechanical and controls systemsTroubleshoot system componentsDevelop Testing Plans and Procedures (20%)Assist in the development of commissioning plansPrepare pre-functional checklistsPrepare functional performance test scriptsReview Construction Related Design Documents, Drawings and Specifications (15%)Review shop drawings and submittalsReview sequence of operationsAssist in commissioning focused design reviewsReporting (10%)Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholdersAssist in preparation and contributes to final commissioning reportManage personal hours using company toolsTechnology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency (5%)Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on BudgetPerforms Other Related Duties as AssignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTS (BEGINNER LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED)Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense SkillBridge ProgramKnowledge of electrical, mechanical and controls system principlesSkilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file managementSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detailAbility to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovationAbility to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcef
