Project - the aim you'll haveWe are seeking an experienced Data Engineer / BI Developer to join our team. In this role, you will work across active client projects to design and implement data pipelines, migrate legacy ETL workloads, and build scalable reporting and analytics solutions on the Microsoft data platform. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing complex T-SQL, building Power BI reports, and architecting data flows in Microsoft Fabric, and can hit the ground running on day one.Expectations - the experience you need5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI development, or similar rolesExpertise working with SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, etc.Proven experience migrating SSIS packages to cloud-native ETL/ELT solutions (Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Factory strongly preferred)Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and NotebooksProficiency with Power BI: report and dashboard development, DAX, data modeling, Power Query (M), and report publishing/workspace managementHands-on experience with Azure data services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, and/or Azure Synapse AnalyticsSolid understanding of data warehouse concepts: dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensionsExperience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments with multiple concurrent workstreamsExperience in a client-facing consulting or professional services environmentNice to Have Experience with Salesforce data integrations or Salesforce API consumption (REST/SOAP)Familiarity with Python or PySpark for data transformation within Fabric Notebooks or Azure DatabricksExposure to machine learning workflows or Azure Machine LearningMicrosoft certifications: DP-700 (Fabric Analytics Engineer), PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst), DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer), or equivalentWhat you will doWrite complex, high-performance T-SQL and SQL queries for data transformation, reporting layers, and stored proceduresMigrate legacy SSIS packages to modern Microsoft Fabric equivalents, ensuring data integrity, performance, and maintainability throughout the processDesign, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse, Warehouses) and Azure Data ServicesBuild, maintain, and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards, including semantic model design, DAX measures, and data modeling best practicesCollaborate with client stakeholders to gather requirements, document data flows, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutionsDevelop and manage data models (star schema, snowflake) within Azure Synapse Analytics, Fabric Warehouses, or SQL Server environmentsMonitor, troubleshoot, and tune pipeline performance, data quality, and query execution across production and development environmentsParticipate in architecture discussions and contribute to solution design decisions for new client engagementsDocument technical designs, pipeline logic, and data definitions clearly for both technical and non-technical audiencesCompany Description
