Finance Officer

We are looking for a motivated Finance Officer to join our small, fast-moving team at Monetum, a Swiss-regulated payment services and VASP company. This is a hands-on operational finance role with real breadth — you will touch everything from daily bookkeeping to payroll to client fund reconciliation. It is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career who wants to grow quickly in a regulated fintech environment rather than spend years in a large corporate structure.TasksSupport and, where required, perform day-to-day financial operations including payroll processing, invoicing, payment runs, fee calculations and bookkeepingMaintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers and assist with cash flow monitoringPrepare and support the review of bank reconciliationsAssist in the reconciliation of client funds under supervisionSupport the monthly close process including preparation of management accounts, budget vs actuals analysis and KPI reportingAssist in the preparation and submission of VAT returnsSupport the annual and interim audit process and liaise with external auditors under guidanceAssist in payroll processing and related annual obligationsContribute to finance process improvement initiativesSupport ad-hoc financial analysis, modelling and project work as requiredEnsure adherence to accounting policies and internal controlsAssist senior management with financial reporting and regulatory compliance tasks as neededRequirementsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field1–3 years of experience in a finance, accounting or bookkeeping roleSolid understanding of core accounting principlesExperience with accounting software (experience with any cloud-based platform is a plus)Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers under tight deadlinesFluent English is essentialInterest in or exposure to fintech, payments or regulated financial services is a plus but not requiredProactive, organised and comfortable in a small team where you will wear multiple hatsA genuinely varied role with exposure to the full finance function from day onePossibility of career development in a regulated fintech environmentCompetitive salary for the level, reviewed as responsibilities growFlexible working arrangementsThe opportunity to grow into a more senior role as the company scalesOriginally posted on Himalayas
