What You Will Do
As industry officer, you will help prisoners build work skills in prison industry areas.
You will support safe daily operations while meeting production and training goals.
You Will
train and supervise prisoners in commercial and service industry work areasmaintain safe workplaces by following security, safety and operational proceduresmonitor production, stock, records and equipment to support daily operationscoach prisoners to build practical skills and improve future employment opportunitieswork with your team to improve processes, complete reports and meet production goals.
About You
A trade qualification or relevant experience in cabinet making, joinery, timber or metal fabrication is highly desirable. A current forklift licence is preferred.
You Should Also Have
experience working in a trade or industrial setting while meeting production targetsknowledge of prison industry procedures or the ability to learn them quicklyunderstanding of Lean manufacturing principles and safe work practicesstrong teamwork, resilience and communication skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
