Job Description
Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.About This RoleAs the Manager of Education, you'll provide leadership and oversight for our Education Specialists across multiple Compass sites while helping ensure a consistent, high-quality educational experience for our adolescent patients. You'll partner closely with the Center of Excellence (COE) for Education, clinical leadership, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to support educational programming, staff development, and operational excellence.This role combines people leadership, clinical collaboration, and program implementation. You'll directly manage Education Specialists, support standardized educational initiatives, oversee complex education cases, and help ensure patients receive compassionate, coordinated educational support throughout their treatment.Please Note: This is a temporary, fixed-term position from August 2026 through May 2027. This role is expected to begin approximately one week prior to the start of the school year, and will conclude on the last day of the school year. Periodic travel to Illinois may be required.What You'll DoProvide direct leadership and supervision for Education Specialists across multiple sitesConduct regular 1:1 meetings to support employee development, coaching, and performanceLead onboarding and training of new Education Specialists in partnership with the Education Center of ExcellenceSupport the implementation of standardized education practices and key organizational initiativesAssign, monitor, and balance Education Specialist caseloadsCarry an individual patient caseload as neededProvide consultation and oversight on complex education casesLead weekly and/or bi-weekly Education team meetingsPartner with site leadership by participating in leadership huddles, daily rounds, and interdisciplinary collaborationSupport Academic & Skills Integration and Therapeutic Resource Hour programmingProvide LBS1 supervision for Illinois Virtual Program staff and assist with Virtual Academic Skills Integration coverage as neededCoordinate tutoring services, when applicablePartner closely with the Education Center of Excellence to support department goals and initiativesCollaborate with the Billing team to resolve education-related billing questions and ensure appropriate documentationSupport billing oversight and education department operational processesAssist with key initiative projects and other priorities as assignedWho You Are:Master's degree in Education or a related field (highly preferred)Active LBS1 teaching license requiredPrevious leadership or supervisory experience preferredExperience working with students with emotional and behavioral health needsStrong knowledge of public school systems, special education processes, IEPs, and educational accommodationsDemonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team membersStrong organizational, communication, and time management skillsAbility to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentPassion for supporting children, adolescents, and families through behavioral healthcareWe know job descriptions can be intimidating, so if this sounds like an opportunity for you, please don't hesitate to apply!Who We AreCompass Health Center is a recognized leader in crisis-level mental health, bringing passion, connection, and patient-centered care to the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient space (PHP/IOP).
