On behalf of a client in our partner network, we are currently looking for a Public Sector Transformation Lead to join their team.About the CompanyOur client is a leading management and technology consultancy with a substantial and growing public sector practice in the UK. With a client base spanning central government, NHS, and devolved administrations, they have a strong track record of delivering large-scale transformation programmes across digital, operational, and policy domains. The practice is expanding rapidly following a series of significant contract wins, and is looking for a senior figure to lead delivery and client relationships.The RoleAs Public Sector Transformation Lead, you will take accountability for the delivery of complex transformation programmes across one or more central government clients. You will lead teams of consultants and client staff, manage senior stakeholder relationships, and ensure programmes deliver the outcomes committed to in the contract. This is both a delivery leadership and a business development role.What You'll DoLead the delivery of large, complex transformation programmes within central government, taking accountability for scope, quality, timelines, and outcomes.Build and manage senior relationships with client Permanent Secretaries, Directors General, and SROs.Lead and develop a team of consultants, including setting objectives, reviewing work, and supporting career progression.Contribute to the growth of the practice through bid leadership, thought leadership, and active relationship development within Whitehall.Ensure programme governance, risk management, and reporting meet both internal quality standards and client expectations.What We're Looking For10–15 years of experience in public sector consulting, programme delivery, or a senior civil service role with major change accountability.Strong understanding of the central government operating context, including Cabinet Office, HMT, and departmental governance frameworks.Proven ability to deliver large, complex programmes on time and to outcome in a government environment.Excellent client management and business development skills.SC clearance (or eligibility to obtain) is required.Compensation & BenefitsBase salary of £120,000 – £155,000, depending on experience.Profit share, annual bonus, and long-term incentive participation.Private health cover, enhanced pension, and 28 days holiday.Hybrid working with an occasional client site presence required.How to ApplyTo be considered for this role, please create your profile at getnextstep.com.
