Job Description

The Role & Team:The Director of Engineering is accountable for successful delivery, technical integrity, and people leadership of the VistaView and Enterprise CX Intelligence solutions. The role ensures that approved product initiatives are delivered on time, within agreed scope and quality standards, while safeguarding domain architectural coherence and long-term sustainability.The purpose of the role is to translate product strategy and roadmap commitments into predictable engineering outcomes. This requires balancing short-term delivery objectives with long-term system health, ensuring that technical debt is actively managed and that engineering practices support scalability, security, and maintainability. The Engineering Manager is responsible for creating the conditions under which the team can consistently perform at a high level, combining structured execution, balancing continuous improvement with the need for transforming ways of working to capture benefits from new disruptive technologies such as AI.Success in this role is measured by delivery predictability, product quality, operational stability, and the development of a capable and engaged engineering team. The Engineering Manager serves as the primary owner of outcomes within the assigned domain and acts as the escalation point for material risks related to scope, capacity, quality, or architectural sustainability. The engineering organization utilizes several shared components and collaboration with other engineering managers on operational excellence and shared platforms is essential.Key Responsibilities:Delivery & Execution· Own end-to-end delivery within scope· Translate roadmap into actionable plans· Manage capacity, risks, and technical debt· Ensure predictable and timely releasesTechnical Oversight· Safeguard architectural integrity· Enforce engineering standards and secure coding practices· Participate in key design decisionsQuality & Stability· Ensure adequate test automation and release readiness· Monitor production health and drive corrective actionsPeople Leadership· Lead, coach, and develop team leaders and engineering specialists· Manage performance, succession planning and recruitment· Build a high-performing, collaborative and accountable teamCollaboration· Drive success together with sales, professional services, customer support and product management· Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies transparentlyLeadershipOutcome-oriented and accountableStrong decision-making and prioritization skillsClear communicator across technical and business stakeholdersBalance daily delivery, continuous improvement and transformative changesEducation & Professional BackgroundDegree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience5–10+ years software engineering experience2–5+ years people leadershipSolid understanding of architecture, cloud environments, and modern SDLC practicesTechnical Skills:Architecture & TechnologyStrong understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures and microservices designProficiency in cloud-native platforms, including Kubernetes (RKE, AKS, EKS), containerization (Docker), Helm charts and CI/CDKnowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging systems and real‑time processing patternsExpertise in software design principles, refactoring, modularization, performance tuning and technical debt managementBroad understanding of modern data platforms and storage technologies, including relational, non‑relational and time‑series databasesFamiliarity with data ingestion concepts, data processing workflows, and high‑volume or real‑time data pipelinesFamiliarity with edge or probe‑based data collection approaches, including passive network monitoring and extraction of signalling and user‑plane informationUnderstanding of real‑time packet processing concepts, such as high‑throughput ingestion, low‑latency decoding and protocol‑aware analysisFamiliarity with the use of AI, GenAI and agentic systems to accelerate root cause analysis, enhance diagnostic accuracy and automate assurance workflows across complex network environments.Hands‑on background in one or more of the following: C++, Java, Python, C#Domain knowledge· Experience leading R&D teams with a strong focus on Network Service Assurance products.· Broad understanding of mobile and fixed network architectures, including access, transport, core, and service layers.· Knowledge of key telecom protocols and associated message flows (SIP, Diameter, GTP, HTTP/2‑based 5G SBA traffic, SS7, RTP, IP‑layer signalling, etc.)· Understanding of how voice, data, messaging and digital services are monitored and assured across both mobile (2G/3G/4G/5G/IMS) and fixed broadband networks. Ability to reason about KPIs, QoE indicators, customer impact, and the full lifecycle from network events to service‑level insights.· Familiarity with performance management principles, metrics computation, proactive degradation detection and root‑cause analysis techniques used
