Job Description

OverviewThis is a pro-bono position.JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.The Area manager is assigned a geographic area where she/he will be in charge of reaching out to the schools in that area and engaging with Middle Schools of interest that could benefit from our afterschool STEM programs for underserved middle school Girls. They manage a team of Community Managers, responsible for specific regions or specific schools ResponsibilitiesWork with Community Engagement (COME) Team lead to define the strategy and targets for the incoming school yearResearch schools, identifies stakeholders (School admins) and locate their contactsEstablish and maintain relationships with school liaisons in the regionCollaborate with the College Engagement to ensure alignment between the Schools we reach out to and the Universities we source the volunteer college students from.Collaborate with the Corporate Engagement to ensure alignment between the Schools we reach out to and the Companies we seek sponsorship from.Attend virtual team meetings weekly : (Monday 6:30pm EST)QualificationsGenuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gapAbility to establish and maintain connections with area schoolsResourceful, can-do attitudeExperience with K-12 schools as a parent, former student professionallyOutreach experience preferred-Experience with community outreach, relationship development, Not shy on phone or email.Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with the school admins during the work weekTime Commitment 6 Hours weekly6 months minimumOriginally posted on Himalayas
