Field Marketing Manager – Crop ProtectionThis position is remote (virtual) and can work from home but would ideally be located within the territory of Iowa, Missouri or Wisconsin.The CPP Field Marketing Manager has responsibility for crop protection pricing and marketing execution in the assigned Sales Business Unit (BU), in this case, supporting the Central Business Unit (IA/MO/WI). Additionally, the CPP Field Marketing Manager supports development and connection of key market insights to local strategy. The role reports to the CPP & Seed Field Marketing Director Team Leader with a dotted-line report to the Central BU Sales Leader.The Field Marketing Team has responsibility for partnership between Strategic Marketing and Sales, partnering to leverage and align resources with opportunities and advocating for the team cross functionally including coordination with procurement, finance, IT, agronomy and product development, etc. The role acts as an extension of the P&L, with local ownership for executing on Marketing and Sales objectives. The Field Marketing team acts as the funnel to and from the field, providing insights to Marketing as the “voice of the field” and pushing communication and key programs to their assigned BU. This leader is highly focused on driving local strategy and execution against goals, including local strategizing and approvals of marketing funds. The role allows for increased efficiency and speed of decision-making, freeing up people leaders to manage the broader business.The Field Marketing Manager works in tangent with a regionally assigned Seed Field Marketing Manager as a part of an 12-person team comprised of 6 CPP Field Marketing Leaders across BUs and 6 Seed Field Marketers (formerly called Seed Execution Leads). Leads crop protection pricing strategy & execution to include:Influencing / Executing Forecasting and Strategic planningDrive BU plan and identified high priority Account PlansManage overall BU P&L CPP portfolio and marginDiscretionary marketing spend managementAllocations executionSupport Marketing program launch and new product deployment and trainingEarly Advantage target management and program executionDemand Creation for localized markets in collaboration with sales teamConsults on returns exceptions and target managementBulk fill and package fill programDiscontinued list executionSupport the execution on AARx and other specific programs to increase volume, market share, and internal and owner marginPartner with and across Marketing teams including P&L leads, Sales Activation and Pricing / Data teams to develop and execute marketing programs tied to BUCommunication liaison to/from Marketing to/from SalesLeads regional execution strategy and key account connection to include:Lead business planning (BU CPP plan and Account CPP plan support)Key Owner Engagement (direct support and relationships)Supplier Partner collaboration (eg. Regional level, annual programs)Strategic thought leadership for Advanced Acre positioning at key accountsAssess portfolio value to market and gain insight into value and competitive positions on a regular basisWorks with BU sales leads and Account Managers in identifying opportunities through key product focus and profitability analysis with key customersAligned retail account market intel communicationSupply Chain collaboration to align on product positioning within BUProduct registration awareness and positioningInvoice review and approvalReturns exceptions approvalLeads BU Level Market Intelligence & Communication:Market Intelligence (utilize analytics to drive regional insights, competitive intelligence, local BU-level micro market insights)Lead weekly calls to coordinate activities with sales business units, Seed, Services and CPP (e.g., BU Level CPP communication Calls)Feedback loop to Strategic Marketing2-way Market Intelligence for the BU & WFUCollaboration/coachingIntegral part of BU Leadership Team (BUL, ASM, MDA/CPPM) to align on BU strategySupport coaching and development of BU Sales teams and other Marketing teams (e.g., Pricing & Data)Coaching field sales team on program and product positioning, brand ladder, and post patent/AI positioningRequired Experience/Knowledge/Skills :BS/BA in business or agricultural field. 10+ years of sales and/or marketing experienceExperience with CPP business, ideally within the assigned BU (products, programs, customers, agronomic practices, etc.) Strong written and oral communication skillsAbility to champion critical business needs and experience in change management to inspire and lead change initiativesAbility to drive organizational prioritiesExperience participating in and leading cross-functional teamsProven ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholdersAbility to provide clear vision, direction and feedbackAbility to make timely decisions and communicate appropriatelyAbility to multi-taskProject management skillsExperience in increasing productivity and efficiencyWorks well
