If you’ve sharpened your strategic and analytical toolkit in a demanding environment and you’re ready to point it at something that matters, this role was designed for you.You will partner directly with the Chief Financial Officer and senior leadership to raise the quality of financial decision-making across the organization — improving planning rigor, sharpening resource allocation, and building the systems and analytical infrastructure that GiveDirectly needs as it scales. This is a high-leverage role: the work you do here shapes how hundreds of millions of dollars flow to people who need it most.This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer with significant ownership and autonomy — designed for a high-performing individual ready to take on a broad set of challenges, with an opportunity to expand scope and leadership as GiveDirectly grows. Location: Flexible (proximity to a GD office preferred: New York, Washington DC, Nairobi, Kampala, Kigali, London). You understand the evidence behind direct cash transfers and find that evidence compelling.What you’ll doDrive financial planning across GiveDirectlyOwn and drive global budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, in partnership with finance business partners and programmatic staff. Translate organizational priorities into financial plans, support resource allocation decisions, and improve visibility into financial performance and tradeoffs across teams.Build smarter strategic finance systems and workflowsImprove the tools and processes behind budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Reduce manual work and improve systems that help GiveDirectly make faster, better decisions as it grows. Identify practical opportunities to use AI and automation to improve financial analysis, reporting, and planning workflows.Lead ad hoc financial analyticsConduct financial analyses across Programs, Growth, Product, and Shared Services to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.Support cross-functional initiativesSupport initiatives such as cost-efficiency efforts, resource allocation analyses, and scenario planning.
