As a Principal Specialist, Subcontracts Program Management within the Mission Systems business, you will play a key role in shaping and executing subcontract strategies that power mission-critical programs. From early pursuit and proposal phases through development, production, and long-term sustainment, you’ll collaborate across Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and supplier teams to help ensure successful program outcomes. This is an opportunity to be at the center of complex, fast-moving programs—contributing to solutions that support national security and next-generation capabilities.In this individual contributor role, you will help drive subcontract execution by supporting planning activities, assisting with supplier negotiations, and monitoring cost, schedule, and performance across programs with meaningful subcontract content. If you’re looking for a role where you can expand your influence, sharpen your business and technical acumen, and contribute to high-visibility programs, this position offers a strong path for growth and impact within a dynamic aerospace and defense environment.What You Will Do:Support subcontract planning, proposal reviews, supplier evaluations, and subcontract strategy executionProvide support to internal teams by sharing market insight and supply chain considerationsSupport supplier negotiations and partner with the Supply Chain Contract Manager in preparing and executing contractual documentsAssist in proposal preparation and support execution and performance of subcontractsMonitor subcontract performance, support Cost Account Manager (CAM) activities, and provide updates to internal stakeholdersSupport oversight of subcontract products and services, including production needs, on-time delivery, and lifecycle considerationsParticipate in supplier engagements and maintain working relationships with supplier teams and program stakeholdersSupport compliance with legal requirements, customer specifications, and government regulationsCoordinate subcontract activities in partnership with Subcontract Administrators, Buyers, and Supply Chain Contract ManagersParticipate in internal cadence reviews and support communication with internal customersSupport management of program cost, schedule, and risk for programs with subcontract contentAssist in developing subcontract plans, identifying suppliers, and preparing Supplier Statements of WorkSupport programs of moderate complexity while applying sound judgment in subcontract and compliance activitiesQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experienceThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is requiredU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearancePrior experience supporting subcontract efforts using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodology and/or Cost Account Management (CAM) activitiesPrior experience applying acquisition policies and procedures, including the Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA), within a government contracting environmentPrior experience working with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)Qualifications We Prefer:Experience identifying, assessing, and supporting mitigation of program and subcontract riskExperience working within the Collins Management System (CMS) or similar enterprise operating frameworks, including familiarity with product lifecycle value streamsExperience supporting U.S. Government subcontracting efforts within a regulated aerospace and defense environmentExperience collaborating with Program Management teams to support execution of development or production programsPrior experience in Supply Chain, Subcontracts, or Procurement functions, including exposure to supplier performance and subcontract executionWhat We Offer:Medical, dental, and vision insurance Three weeks of vacation for newly hired employees Generous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds and separate e
