**About the Role**
You will architect and build the data systems that power our clients’ most important growth initiatives. You are first and foremost a builder, and you bring the credibility to lead technical conversations with clients directly. This role is built for someone who has spent their career as a hands\-on data engineer and is ready to grow into a strategy\-focused, client\-facing position.
As a Marketing Technology Strategist on Phase2’s Strategy team, you design and build the cloud warehouses, pipelines, CDP implementations, and platform integrations that connect raw data to real business outcomes: acquisition, lifecycle marketing, attribution, and audience activation. You’re hands\-on with the architecture and the code, and you’re comfortable presenting technical strategy directly to client stakeholders and defending architecture decisions.
You understand how data quality, structure, and observability shape the analytics and AI outcomes clients rely on, and you bring that perspective to every engagement.

**Who You Are**
* Engineer moving into strategy: You've built your career hands\-on as a data engineer, and you're ready to grow into a strategy\-focused, client\-facing role. You can translate technical decisions into a business narrative and advise clients directly, not just build behind the scenes.
* Systems thinker and builder: You design clean, scalable data architecture and you’re hands\-on, writing pipelines, modeling schemas, and debugging integrations yourself.
* Technical range and adaptability: You are resourceful in unfamiliar client stacks. You ramp up quickly on new tools, data systems, and pipelines through hands\-on exploration, AI assistance, and collaboration with subject\-matter experts as needed.
* Modern data stack fluency: You have hands\-on production experience implementing cloud warehouses, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), CRM and marketing automation tools, Reverse ETL, orchestration, and web analytics.
* AI native mindset: You’re comfortable building with AI in your day\-to\-day work, including agents, automations, AI\-powered workflows, and data foundations for analytics and retrieval\-augmented generation (RAG) use cases. You use coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Codex) as a standard part of how you work.
