Job Description
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support strategic financial initiatives. **Responsibilities**
* Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month\-end closing procedures.
* Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records.
* Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, or PeopleSoft to record transactions and generate reports.
* Conduct data entry with precision using Excel formulas, including VLOOKUP functions and complex data analysis techniques to support financial reporting.
* Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) controls and assist in internal audits to uphold financial integrity.
* Support payroll management using systems like ADP, UltiPro, Kronos, or Ceridian; handle benefits administration and HRIS data updates as needed.
* Assist with tax preparation and filings while maintaining detailed documentation for governmental audits or reviews.
* Collaborate with cross\-functional teams on projects related to public accounting standards, governmental accounting requirements, or non\-profit accounting practices.
* Perform account reconciliation and review transactions for accuracy; identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions promptly.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
* Extensive experience in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft or equivalent enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
* Proven expertise in GAAP principles, technical accounting standards, and double\-entry bookkeeping practices.
* Strong knowledge of payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro along with benefits administration experience.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data using Excel data analysis tools including formulas and VLOOKUP functions.
* Experience with accounts payable/receivable management, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
* Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures.
* Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
