Job Description

About GitHub: GitHub is the world’s leading platform for agentic software development — powered by Copilot to build, scale, and deliver secure software. Over 180 million developers, including more than 90% of the Fortune 100 companies, use GitHub to collaborate, and more than 77,000 organisations have adopted GitHub Copilot. Locations: In this role you can work from Remote, United States Overview: The Copilot Intelligence Platform is the layer between frontier AI models and the millions of developers who use Copilot every day. Every suggestion, chat response, and agent action runs through the systems our team builds. As the frontier moves, we decide how and when new model capabilities reach GitHub's products. We work directly with the major frontier model labs, evaluating emerging capabilities and shaping how they're integrated into developer workflows. We own the product and infrastructure that make this possible: model orchestration and routing, capacity and scalability, evaluation systems that define what "good" means for Copilot, and the platform tooling that lets every product team at GitHub build AI experiences quickly and safely. We navigate the tradeoffs that come with operating at this layer, including performance, cost, capacity, and quality. We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to help shape where this platform goes next. You'll partner closely with applied scientists, engineering, data science, frontier model labs, GitHub product teams, and our ecosystem partners to set strategy across a broad and technically rich portfolio. You'll drive the architectural and product decisions that determine how Copilot scales, what it's capable of, and how fast every team building on top of the platform can move. Responsibilities: * Set platform strategy. Own the product direction for a core slice of the Copilot Intelligence Platform. Set the strategy that enables the ambition of every product team building on top, balancing what we ship now with the long\-term investments that determine how Copilot scales and evolves. * Think in systems. Reason about the platform as an interconnected whole: how model routing affects latency, how capacity decisions shape cost and availability, how evaluation systems feed back into product quality. Find the leverage points where platform investment unlocks the most value across GitHub's AI surface area. * Build for developers and for the teams who build with you. Build for the end\-user developers whose experience depends on this platform, and for the integrators who build on top of it: both the internal GitHub product teams shipping Copilot surfaces and the external partners in our open\-source and broader ecosystem. Understand the distinct needs of each and design a platform that serves them all well. * Ground strategy in data and lived experience. Proactively dig into usage, performance, and quality data to surface what's working, what's breaking, and where the next opportunity is. Use Copi
