Serving as a critical liaison between customers, sales, operations, purchasing, vendors, and transportation teams, this role ensures projects are executed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements.This position requires strong analytical and organizational skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced building products distribution environment. The Project Manager plays a key role in supporting sales growth, customer satisfaction, profitability, and operational efficiency.Responsibilities and QualificationsKey ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Order ExecutionManage assigned customer projects from initial order placement through final delivery and completionReview, validate, and process purchase orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirementsCoordinate special orders with vendors, purchasing teams, and branch personnelOversee order entry, ticket generation, job costing, and project tracking within company systemsMonitor project schedules, milestones, and deadlines while proactively addressing delays, discrepancies, and project challengesMaintain ownership of project execution to ensure customer expectations and company objectives are metPricing & Financial ManagementApply established pricing structures, contract terms, and margin objectives in accordance with company guidelinesEvaluate pricing exceptions and recommend adjustments that support profitability and customer retentionReview and resolve billing discrepancies, credits, adjustments, and invoicing concernsAnalyze project costs and financial impacts to support informed business decisionsCustomer & Vendor Relationship ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and projectsDevelop and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and responsive serviceCommunicate order status, delivery schedules, product availability, and issue resolution updates to customersCoordinate with manufacturers and vendors to confirm specifications, lead times, inventory availability, and production schedulesResolve customer concerns and project issues in a timely and professional mannerLogistics, Delivery Coordination & Project DocumentationCoordinate shipments and delivery schedules with operations and transportation teamsAlign delivery timing with customer jobsite requirements and project schedulesAnticipate and resolve logistical challenges while minimizing disruptions to customers and operationsMonitor project deliveries to ensure timely and accurate fulfillmentPrepare, review, and process submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and customer requirementsCoordinate sample requests and customer approvalsCommunicate approved product selections and specifications to manufacturers to initiate productionMaintain complete and organized project documentation, including approvals, correspondence, specifications, and project recordsCRM & ReportingMaintain accurate and current project information within CRM and business management systemsTrack project progress, milestones, and completion statusGenerate project reports, forecasts, and updates for sales leadership and management teamsProvide project insights and recommendations that support sales planning and operational effectivenessCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with outside sales, operations, purchasing, accounting, and branch leadership teams to ensure successful project executionSupport District Sales Managers by providing project updates, forecasting information, and issue resolution recommendationsContribute to process improvements that enhance customer service, operational efficiency, and project performanceAdditional Responsibilities & MiscellaneousPerform other duties as assigned to support Sales and corporate objectivesQualific
