Looking for Philippines-based candidatesJob Role: Estimator/Project Co-Ordinator - Mechanical PlumbingCompensation range: $2,000 AUD - $2,500 AUD / MonthlyEngagement type:Independent Contractor AgreementWork Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.Who The Client Is: A specialist mechanical services contractor delivers end-to-end pipework and HVAC installation solutions across commercial and industrial construction projects. Their work spans new builds, refurbishments, and complex fit-outs, where they support the delivery of critical building systems including pipework, plant equipment, and mechanical infrastructure.Role Overview: We are seeking a highly capable Estimator / Project Coordinator with experience in mechanical plumbing and/or HVAC systems. This role combines technical estimating with project coordination, requiring strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts across projects.You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting project delivery, and ensuring all documentation, pricing, and coordination activities are executed with precision.Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical plumbing and HVAC projects based on drawings, specifications, and scope of worksInterpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical documents to develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs)Build and maintain detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, subcontractors, and equipmentSource and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimatesSupport project coordination activities from tender stage through to deliveryTrack project costs and assist in maintaining budgets and margin targetsLiaise with engineers, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and resolve discrepanciesAssist in procurement and purchasing of materials where requiredMaintain accurate records of estimates, pricing assumptions, and project documentationUse Excel and estimating/software tools to manage data, pricing models, and reportingIdentify risks, gaps, and inconsistencies in project documentation and proactively resolve themRequired Skills and Qualifications:Experience in mechanical plumbing and/or HVAC estimating OR coordinationStrong Excel / spreadsheet capability Ability to read construction drawings and specifications Experience with BOQs and cost build-ups Excellent organisational skillsMechanical plumbing background HVAC plant / pipework knowledgeExposure to rigging, steel fabrication, and weldingProcurement / purchasing experience Experience with systems such as AroFlo or similar Detail-obsessed with strong focus on accuracy Proactive mindset — able to identify gaps without direction Strong communication skills, especially in remote environments Commercial mindset — understands margins, not just cost Tools to UseMicrosoft Excel (advanced level – spreadsheets, formulas, cost build-ups, reporting)Construction drawings and specification documentsBOQ / estimating templates and cost build-up toolsJob management / estimating systems (e.g. AroFlo or similar)Work Arrangement & Expectations:This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client workReflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)Originally posted on Himalayas
