829 Studios is building a bench of experienced UX strategists we can bring into client work as needed—ranging from focused discovery sprints to large, multi-phase website strategy and redesign engagements.We engage talent on a project basis, bringing in the right expertise at the right time across a range of client needs, including complex builds for established and growth-stage brands. This is an opportunity to partner with our team on a recurring, project-based basis.Who this is forIndependent UX consultants and career freelancersStrategists comfortable owning workstreams and interfacing directly with clientsPeople who can quickly get up to speed, integrate into a team, and deliver value without heavy oversightWhat You'll DoOur UX strategy work centers on deeply understanding each client’s brand, business, and audience, and translating that into clear, actionable direction. Engagements typically span discovery and stakeholder alignment through information architecture, content strategy, and wireframing across B2B and B2C clients.You’ll be brought in to:Lead or support stakeholder interviews and workshopsConduct research (competitive, analytics, and user insights)Translate findings into clear strategic directionDevelop information architecture, sitemaps, and content frameworksCreate lo-fi wireframes in Figma to express thinkingPresent work to clients and guide them through recommendationsThis role is not focused on visual/UI design. We’re looking for strategists who can lead through thinking, communication, and clarity.What You'll Bring5–10+ years in UX strategy, ideally in an agency environmentStrong portfolio demonstrating research → strategy → IA/wireframesProven ability to lead client conversations and influence decisionsComfortable collaborating with designers, developers, and marketing teamsFamiliarity with CMS-driven websites (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Shopify)How we workProject-based engagements aligned to client needsRemote, primarily Eastern Time collaborationWork is assigned based on fit, availability, and expertiseHourly Rate Range: $45-$65 per hour We determine compensation based on experience, demonstrated skills, and current market conditions at the time of hire to ensure fairness and consistency across roles.
