Music Transcriptionist (piano)

**About the role** We’re opening a new position for a **piano\-focused music transcriptionist**. You’ll join our transcription team and support a growing workload of notation and transcription tasks. This role is ideal for someone who meets all of the following requirements: * You have a **college\-level music education** (or equivalent training), specializing in **piano**. * You are skilled with **music notation software**, especially **Soundslice**. * You have strong spoken and written communication skills in **English**. * You’re excited about working at a growing music edtech company. **What does the work look like?** Your responsibilities may include: * Transcribing and syncing **piano** material across a range of difficulty levels. * Updating and refining existing course materials to improve the educational experience. * Collaborating with our internal team to maintain consistency across notation projects. **How to apply** Please submit all three components: * **Cover letter** \- Briefly introduce yourself, your background, and why you’re a good fit. * **Work samples** \- Provide **2\-3 examples** of music transcriptions you’ve completed (PDF) * **Resume** \- Outline your work and education experience. * Optional: Provide a link to a video of you playing piano. **Hiring process** Our hiring timeline includes three steps: * **Application window** closes: Monday, April 20 at 11:59 pm PDT * **Interview:** A short call with Pickup’s Head of Notation to answer your questions and learn more about you. * **Paid trial project:** A small task to assess suitability.
