Job Description

**\# Senior Accountant — Multi\-Client Bookkeeping \& Advisory (Remote)** \*\*Cornerstone Accounting Solutions\*\* · 100% remote (Eastern business hours) · Full\-time · $65,000–$75,000 \-\-\- We're a boutique accounting and advisory firm serving small businesses across construction, property management, restaurants, and professional services. Every client is on a cash basis. We're hiring one senior accountant to carry a book of our more complex clients. This seat is two things, held to the same standard: you can \*\*execute\*\* — close complex books cleanly, on your own — and you can \*\*communicate\*\* — clearly in writing and confidently on video with clients. Most candidates are strong at one. We need both. Read the next two sections before you apply. \#\# What "senior" means here — the execution We're not hiring someone to run our process. We're hiring someone we can hand an unfamiliar, sometimes\-messy set of books to — cold, with little to no orientation on the client — and trust to figure out what's wrong, fix it correctly, and set how it should run going forward. Without being taught accounting and without being walked through the client first. Three things, on every client, every month: \- \*\*Diagnose.\*\* Open a QuickBooks file you've never seen and, within an hour, tell us the real state of it — not "the bank reconciles," but whether the balance sheet tells the truth. Entries dated into a closed period. Sales tax payable that doesn't tie to what was filed. A loan with no amortization behind it. Duplicate feeds, misapplied deposits, undeposited funds sitting for months. Nobody hands you the list of what's wrong. Finding the list is the job. \- \*\*Treat.\*\* Fix it correctly and in the right order — reopen and redo rather than dropping a current\-month entry into a closed period. Document what you changed and why. \- \*\*Develop the plan.\*\* Establish how the client closes every month going forward: the recurring entries, where the risks sit, what the client owes you and when, and what "right" looks like — so it doesn't drift back. The people who thrive here are more useful on a messy unfamiliar book than a junior is on a clean familiar one. \#\# And you have to communicate it — the other half Finding the problem is half the job. The other half is telling the client — clearly, in plain language, in a way a business owner who isn't a finance person actually understands and trusts. \- \*\*In writing.\*\* You'll write the month\-end recap and communicate through our systems every day. It has to be clear, organized, and client\-ready — not a data dump, not jargon. Muddy writing doesn't work here, because writing is most of how the client experiences your work. \- \*\*On video.\*\* This is a remote role, but it is not a heads\-down one. You'll be on client video calls regularly — walking an owner through their numbers, explaining a finding, answering questions in real time. You need to be composed, clear, and professional on
