Patent law firm in Germantown, Maryland with a niche working with individual and small business inventors is seeking full time individuals to assist with the patent application process for our clients. Our clients often put their products on Kick Starter or audition for Shark Tank.
A Patent Paralegal manages a client's entire patent application process. From answering the client's general questions, collecting patent application paperwork, collecting payments, coordinating with patent attorneys to ensure patent applications are timely prepared, informing of patent approval or rejection, to reminding clients of deadlines to respond to the patent office, you will oversee a client's entire patent application process. A Patent Paralegal is critical to ensuring the patent application process is smooth for our clients. You are responsible for making sure patent application deadlines are met.
This patent paralegal position involves extensive phone and email communication with clients. Clients will call you to ask about the patent process and you will call clients to remind them of patent deadlines. You must be comfortable talking to clients.
No legal experience required. We will provide training to those who are hard working, efficient, and fast paced. Strong organizational skills are a must, to keep track of strict legal deadlines.
You may work remotely, provided you are online and available for calls and messages continuously during work hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Answer client questions relating to the patent application process, by phone, email, and chat.
* Watch over patent application deadlines and remind clients of deadlines
* Send and collect patent application paperwork to and from clients
* Work with our patent attorneys, patent agents, and patent engineers to make sure clients' patent applications are prepared and filed to the US Patent Office.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or higher is required
* Ability to learn complex concepts quickly (you will need to learn the complicated patent process)
* Strong organizational skills to keep track of critical patent deadlines
* Comfortable talking to clients
* Computer savvy and quick computer typing (to respond to numerous emails)
