We are in the middle of a major transformation & migrating a 25-year on-premises claims adjudication platform (FINEOS) to its modern SaaS offering in the cloud. This isn’t a lift-and-shift. It’s a ground-up rebuild of the integrations that power short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and our expanding absence management product line.As a Java Integration Engineer on the ReClaimer’s team, you will own features end-to-end; from intake all the way through to payment; working across a shared technology stack with a cross-functional team of engineers and business analysts. See our benefits and perks page for detailsApplicants for this position must not now, nor at any point in the future, require sponsorship for employmentThis role is classified as remote; however, periodic in-person attendance will be required at times for activities such as quarterly or project planning, training, or other business-critical meetings.What You’ll DoDesign and build API and microservice integrations connecting FINEOS insurance SaaS to internal systems including payments, member onboarding, financial platforms, and correspondence workflowsOwn features from intake to payment as part of a feature focused agile team, reducing handoff dependencies and delivering end-to-end business capabilitiesExpand integration coverage as Workplace Solutions adds new product lines, including employer-sponsored absence and leave managementCollaborate with business analysts and product owners to translate claims business requirements into scalable, reliable backend solutionsMentor and coach junior engineers on the team, sharing knowledge of design patterns, best practices, and system architectureParticipate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical design reviews within a SAFe/ART delivery modelContribute to CI/CD pipelines, code quality standards, and engineering practices as the platform evolvesEvaluate integration patterns and make architectural recommendations that balance technical debt, scalability, and delivery speedWhat You’ll Bring5+ years of professional Javaapplication development with strong hands-on experience in Spring and Spring BootProven experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices in an enterprise environmentStrong SQL skills and comfort working with relational databases in an integration contextSelf-directed and tenacious problem solver who can drive issues to resolution with minimal supervisionComfortable working in agile teams and collaborating closely with business analysts and non-technical stakeholdersTrack record of writing clean, testable code with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or SpockYou promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and remain curious in all that you doAble to work remotely with access to high-speed internet; must be located in the United States or Puerto RicoPreferredAWS, MuleSoft, or other cloud integration and middleware platformsOracle database experienceKafka and event-driven architectureDocker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipeline toolingExperience with FINEOS or other SaaS claims/insurance platformsFamiliarity with SAFe, ART delivery, or large-scale agile environmentsWe value diverse experience, skills, and passion for innovation.
