You'll analyze user needs, automate processes, and enhance existing systems while applying technical expertise and methodologies to both IT and business environments. Working with diverse teams, you'll gather requirements, design solutions, oversee implementations, and ensure seamless system integration. Your responsibilities will include developing test plans, building comprehensive documentation, and providing user training and support. This role offers the opportunity to advance technological solutions while supporting our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Analyst / Power BI Consultant with 12+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data modeling, with a proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade dashboards and actionable insights across domains such as Life Sciences, Financial Services, and Retail.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end development of Power BI solutions including requirements gathering, data analysis, dashboard design, development, deployment, and documentation.Design and deliver interactive dashboards and reports tailored for executive and operational stakeholders.Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities.Develop and optimize data models using dimensional modeling techniques (Star Schema).Build advanced DAX measures and Power Query transformations.Implement time-based analytics (YTD, QTD, MTD, YOY, QOQ).Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across data pipelines.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, DBAs, and business users.Manage Power BI Service components including report publishing, scheduling, and gateway maintenance.Support performance tuning and optimization of dashboards and queries.Act as a point of contact for BI reporting support, enhancements, and issue resolution.Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement using Power Platform tools and Lean methodologies.Required Skills & Qualifications10+ years of experience in Data Analysis and Business Intelligence.5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI (Desktop & Service).Strong expertise in:Power BI (Dashboards, Reports, Dataflows)Advanced DAX and Power QuerySQL (query writing and optimization)Data Modeling (Star Schema, Fact & Dimension tables)Experience working with multiple data sources such as:Athena, Redshift, SQL databasesAPIs, SFTP, SharePointExcel/CSV datasetsStrong experience in KPI reporting and business performance analytics.Knowledge of dashboard performance tuning and optimization techniques.Familiarity with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus.Exposure to predictive analytics and collaboration with data science teams is preferred.Experience in handling enterprise-level BI projects.Preferred QualificationsMicrosoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst AssociateMicrosoft Certified: Power Platform FundamentalsExperience in Life Sciences, Financial Services, or Retail domainsKnowledge of Lean methodologies and process improvementExposure to R or other analytical tools is an added advantageKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent stakeholder communication and requirement gathering abilityAbility to translate business needs into technical solutionsDetail-oriented with focus on data accuracy and qualityAbility to work independently and in global, cross-functional teamsContinuous learning mindset and adaptability to new technologiesExpected OutcomesDelivery of scalable, high-performance BI dashboardsImproved decision-making through actionable insightsEnhanced reporting efficiency through automationHigh-quality, reliable, and secure data solutionsOriginally posted on Himalayas
