You will get a chance to learn new skills as well as demonstrate skills you've learned in the past. You will be responsible for closely following the instructions and processes outlined by our client. The daily tasks will vary so it will be necessary to be very flexible in this position. Other necessary characteristics of the job include having a strong attention to detail, ability to work well with co-workers, and a desire to learn new work skills. What You’ll OwnMonthly close, financial statements, and variance commentary for the CEO and fractionalCFORevenue recognition and deferred revenue across multiple subledger accountsAR, AP, reconciliations, payroll coordination, and sales tax complianceProduct line P&Ls and customer profitability reporting for our key accountsTax compliance coordination with our outside CPADocumentation and SOPs for every recurring process — building the institutional knowledge that stays with the companyFirst 90 Days — What Success Looks LikeMonthly close running on time, under 10 business daysDocumented close checklist, chart of accounts, and journal entry log in place5–7 core business metrics identified with the CEO and operationalized in the monthlyreporting packageClean monthly financials the CEO can review with confidenceWorking relationships established with the outside CPA and fractional CFOWhat We’re Looking For7–10 years of progressive accounting experience preferred; open to 5 with exceptional experience in deferred revenue at scaleCPA or international equivalent preferredDirect experience with deferred revenue in multi-channel businesses — subscriptions, gift cards, platform credits, customer prepayments, or similarStrong QuickBooks Online fluency and familiarity with a modern finance stackManagement accounting capability — actuals-based product line P&Ls, profitability analysis, driver reporting. Forward-looking planning and forecasting is owned by our fractional CFO.Comfort working alongside a fractional CFO who reviews your workDetail-oriented, precision-minded, takes pride in clean booksExcited by mission-driven business and B Corp valuesValues stability and mastery over rapid role changeAdditional Job RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Experience: 7-10 years of Accounts Receivable/Payable and/or General Accounting experience.Proficiency in most Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Word, and Outlook.
