JOB DESCRIPTION **Community Moderator (Discord / Reddit)** A Community Moderator is responsible for maintaining positive, inclusive, and well\-organized online spaces. The role involves overseeing conversations, enforcing community guidelines, and supporting users to ensure a welcoming experience for everyone. Community Moderators work closely with fellow moderators and internal teams to keep servers running smoothly, manage conflicts efficiently, and foster healthy, engaging discussions. They play a key part in shaping the tone and culture of the community. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, patience, and sound judgment. Effective moderators are adaptable, organized, and collaborative, handling moderation tasks with professionalism and empathy. Training and support are typically provided to help them perform confidently and consistently. **Requirements:** * Strong communication and active listening skills., * Hands\-on experience using Discord or Reddit moderation tools. * Previous moderation experience in any active online community. * Ability to stay calm, fair, and professional during tense or high\-traffic moments., * Skilled at guiding discussions to keep them on\-topic, friendly, and respectful., * Familiar with managing roles, permissions, and community workflows. * Knowledge of standard moderation actions like muting, banning, or removing content. * Capable of identifying and handling disruptive behavior such as trolling, hate speech, or harassment., * Basic understanding of server security, including two\-factor authentication. * Experience using moderation bots (Dyno, Xenon, AutoMod, Carl\-bot, etc.). * Comfortable managing and responding to a large number of user messages and reports.
