**Job Title: Legal Writer / Brief Writer** **Location:** Remote (Supporting VA/MD Jurisdiction) **Compensation:** $25\.00 – $75\.00 per hour (Commensurate with experience) **Role Type:** Contract / Hourly **About the Firm** The Law Offices of Destiny Aigbe PLLC is seeking a sharp, analytical, and highly persuasive Legal Writer to join our team. We are currently litigating a significant, high\-stakes civil fraud case in the Virginia/Maryland area and need an expert wordsmith who can turn complex facts and dense case law into compelling legal arguments. **Position Overview** This is a fully remote role tailored for a legal professional (such as a JD, attorney, or specialized legal brief writer) who thrives on deep research and sophisticated writing. Instead of administrative court management, your primary focus will be analyzing case discovery, conducting advanced legal research, and drafting heavy\-hitting motions, briefs, and pleadings that can withstand rigorous judicial scrutiny in Virginia and Maryland courts. **Key Responsibilities** * **Advanced Legal Drafting:** Craft high\-quality, persuasive drafts of complex civil litigation documents, including complaints, responses, demurrers/motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and trial briefs—with a specific focus on fraud allegations and contract disputes. * **Deep Legal Research:** Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw to identify controlling precedents, secondary sources, and persuasive case law across Virginia, Maryland, and relevant federal jurisdictions. * **Fact Analysis \& Narrative Building:** Review extensive discovery materials, financial documents, and evidence related to the current fraud case to extract key facts and weave them into clear, undeniable factual narratives. * **Demand Letters \& Correspondence:** Draft sophisticated, strategic demand letters and legal correspondence that clearly articulate the firm’s legal position and pressure opposing counsel. * **Proofreading \& Editing:** Review existing drafts to ensure flawless grammar, proper Bluebook citation formatting, tight legal logic, and adherence to jurisdictional brief\-writing standards. **Qualifications** * **Advanced Legal Background:** JD degree, LLM, or active bar membership (VA/MD preferred but not required if writing portfolio demonstrates mastery of these jurisdictions). * **Superb Writing Portfolio:** Proven track record of drafting complex motions, memoranda of law, or appellate briefs. Must possess the ability to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively. * **Substantive Fraud/Civil Litigation Knowledge:** Solid understanding of the elements of civil fraud, breach of contract, and the lifecycle of complex civil litigation. * **Technical Research Proficiency:** Exceptional, efficient research skills using Westlaw to find "needle\-in\-a\-haystack" case law. * **Remote Autonomy:** Strong attention to detail, ability to take sparse factual notes from lead counsel and turn them in
