Research Assistant, Communication Research (Contract, Remote)

Stribe is a public health communications agency. We build campaigns that help people make healthier decisions — for clients including the Department of Veterans Affairs, SAMHSA, USDA, and state and community behavioral health agencies. Our work has covered suicide prevention, substance use, whole health, and vaccine confidence. We're looking for a Research Assistant to support communication evaluation and message testing on federal public health projects. This role sits at the intersection of research and creative — your findings directly shape the messages and materials our team produces. **What you'll do** * Support qualitative data collection: focus groups and in\-depth interviews, including discussion guide development, note\-taking, and thematic analysis * Field quantitative surveys on rapid timelines, sometimes with one\-week turnarounds to inform time\-sensitive public health messaging * Coordinate participant recruitment with recruitment firms, manage screening criteria, and track incentive distribution * Analyze findings and translate them into clear reports and presentations with actionable recommendations for message and creative revisions * Prepare and maintain documentation for IRB and PRA/OMB clearance packages, including consent forms, moderator guides, and survey screenshots * Deliver clean, de\-identified datasets and maintain rigorous data\-handling practices **What we're looking for** * 2\+ years of experience in communication research, audience research, market research, or public health evaluation * Hands\-on experience with both qualitative methods (focus groups, IDIs) and quantitative surveys * Familiarity with online survey platforms and virtual focus group tools * Strong analytical writing — you can turn raw findings into recommendations a creative team can act on * Organized and deadline\-driven; comfortable managing multiple rounds of testing at once **Nice to have** * Experience supporting federal health agency research, including IRB or OMB/PRA clearance processes * Background in health communication, behavioral science, or public health (MPH or related degree a plus) * Experience testing messages or creative materials specifically (concept testing, ad testing, copy testing) * Bilingual English/Spanish * Statistical analysis skills (SPSS, R, or similar) **Details** * Contract position; hours vary by project with potential for expanded or ongoing work * Fully remote; core availability during Eastern Time business hours Work Location: Remote
