Director of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) \& Content Marketing **Location:** Remote (Los Angeles County, CA) **Employment Type:** Full\-Time **Industry:** Criminal Defense Law About the Position A busy and growing solo criminal defense law practice in Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled **Director of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) \& Content Marketing** to lead and execute the firm's digital marketing strategy. This is a full\-time position for an experienced SEO professional who can drive organic growth through technical SEO, content creation, website optimization, and internet marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands\-on, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive SEO campaigns while producing high\-quality, engaging content that attracts prospective clients. This position is currently fully remote; however, candidates must reside in **Los Angeles County** and be available for occasional in\-person meetings, with the possibility that the role may become partially or fully in\-person in the future. Key Responsibilities * Develop, implement, and manage the firm's overall SEO strategy. * Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and search trend monitoring. * Create and execute content marketing plans designed to increase organic traffic and lead generation. * Write, edit, and optimize website content, blog posts, landing pages, FAQs, practice area pages, and other marketing materials. * Perform technical SEO audits and implement recommendations to improve site performance and search rankings. * Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, site speed, indexing, crawlability, schema markup, and internal linking structures. * Collaborate with website developers and implement basic coding changes when necessary. * Analyze SEO performance using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and other industry tools. * Manage local SEO initiatives, including Google Business Profile optimization and citation management. * Track rankings, traffic, conversions, and ROI, and provide regular performance reports. * Stay current with search engine algorithm updates, AI search developments, and digital marketing trends. * Identify opportunities to improve online visibility and client acquisition through organic search and content strategies. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. * Minimum of 3\-4 years of professional SEO experience with demonstrated success improving organic rankings and traffic. * Strong understanding of technical SEO best practices. * Exceptional content writing, editing, and proofreading skills and the ability to use AI to develop content. * Experience developing and executing content marketing strategies. * Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress. * Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Ah
