WORK OPTION: RemoteGroup SummaryThe NBA’s Direct to Consumer Products, Technology & Operations (DTC PTO) team’s mission is to bring the world courtside by providing the NBA experience for everyone, everywhere. The group creates and manages digital products that extend the league’s global reach from mobile applications to virtual reality experiences. We deliver live games, exclusive content, and experiences to fans across different devices through NBA League Pass, the league’s premium subscription offering, and NBA ID, the league’s membership program. The DTC PTO’s Business Initiatives team is responsible for developing and implementing strategies with a cross-functional team of digital business leaders to help accomplish key business objectives and metrics. Essential Functions and Job/Position SummaryThe Technical Business Analyst will support the Core Platform team within the NBA’s Direct to Consumer Products, Technology & Operations (DTC PTO) organization, serving as a key connector between business stakeholders and engineering teams.This role focuses on translating complex business needs into clear technical requirements that power the platforms underpinning NBA League Pass, NBA ID, and other global fan experiences. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical rigor, technical fluency, and a collaborative mindset to help scale and optimize core systems that enable reliable, high-quality digital products for fans worldwide.Major ResponsibilitiesTechnical Business Analysis & Requirements Management: Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements, translating product needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria while creating and maintaining technical tickets to ensure scope clarity and delivery alignment.Technical Scoping & Delivery Support: Partner with Product and Engineering teams to scope backend and client-side initiatives, assessing feasibility, dependencies, and implementation approach to ensure work is appropriately defined and ready for sprint execution.Platform & Configuration Management: Coordinate with internal and upstream teams to establish and maintain data contracts, APIs, and platform integrations, and manage configuration files to enable scalable platform changes without requiring repeated code releases.Quality Assurance & Testing Support: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure a clear understanding of feature functionality and technical implementation, support the development of test plans, and participate in testing to validate quality and platform stability.Agile & Scrum Delivery Support: Lead backlog refinement to ensure tickets are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with sprint and Program Increment (PI) goals, while tracking capacity, velocity, and delivery progress and helping remove impediments.Release & Project Management: Coordinate release planning and execution, manage priorities, timelines, and dependencies, and balance team capacity to support smooth, on-time deployments and delivery of commitments.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a liaison across Product, Engineering, QA, and partner teams on cross-functional initiatives, facilitating technical discussions and maintaining project plans to ensure alignment, visibility, and timely execution.Required Education/Professional ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related fieldMinimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, with a focus on large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-functional teamsExperience developing and managing requirements roadmaps across multiple workstreamsExperience collaborating effectively across Product, Engineering, QA, and other partner teamsHands-on experience using modern project management and planning methodologies and tools, including Agile and Scrum frameworksExperience working with mobile and connected device development, including AVOD, TVOD, and SVOD platformsRelevant experience within the sports media or digital entertainment industryRequired Skills/Knowledge AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirementsAbility to engage, influence, and help guide multiple functions involved in product developmentDemonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environmentExcellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and multitasking skillsStrong relationship-building skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindsetHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and sub-projects simultaneouslyWillingness to roll up sleeves and contribute wherever needed to support team successFamiliarity with platform-specific design guidelines and partner integrationsPassion for basketball and the NBA fan experienceEmployees currently are eligible to receive an annual discretionary performance bonus, awarded at the sole
