Job Description
The Regional Medical Outcomes Science Liaison (Regional MOSL) is the regional scientific expert responsible for leading advanced, non-promotional, outcomes-focused scientific engagement with regional healthcare decision makers. The role integrates clinical evidence, real-world data, and health economics and outcomes research to inform product access and population-level decision making, evidence needs, and AbbVie medical planning. Through scientific leadership and mentorship, the role elevates the quality and impact of regional patient access. ResponsibilitiesThe Regional MOSL seeks to proactively identify key regional healthcare decision makers (HCDMs), serving as the primary medical liaison between AbbVie and the HCDM, builds strong relationships to understand customer needs, and facilitates generation of real-world evidence (RWE) consistent with approved therapeutic area medical planning. The RMOSL role advances field scientific strategies. Medical lead within the integrated account team for assigned account responsibilities serving an integral role in appropriate planning, strategy development and execution within an account. Participate across assigned therapeutic area and healthcare landscape strategic committees. Customized communication of scientific, health outcomes, and health policy information to HCDMs and influencers. Document and communicate meaningful observations which lead to insights on a regular basis; Identify relevant emerging scientific, health economic, and health policy trends and integrate gaps/learnings into functional strategy and objectives. Primary interface and initial point of contact for small-scale, RWE opportunities with regional level HCDMs. Anticipate, identify and address population-level scientific, outcomes research, and health policy needs of customers serving as the trusted advisor to the customer. Leverage internal and external resources to meet customer needs. Facilitate scientific exchange, as necessary, between AbbVie Medical Leadership, including Medical Affairs, TA Medical Directors, and HEOR with accounts to support internal and external customer objectives. Maintain and continually enhance clinical, scientific, and healthcare landscape expertise. Participate in various therapeutic advisory activities involving both marketed and investigational products, spanning the full product life-cycle. Engage regional healthcare decision makers in compliant, peer level scientific exchange integrating clinical evidence, health economics and outcomes research, and real-world evidence. Qualifications: Advanced scientific degree required, preferably Pharm.D., M.D., D.O., or Ph.D. The position requires extensive experience in Managed Care, health care consulting, pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs or related environment. Completion of relevant Residency or Fellowship programs may be considered in lieu of some work experience. Account management experience preferred. Advanced scientific and business acumen. Includes sophisticated understanding of the healthcare landscape. Demonstrates excellent leadership, executive presence, and presentation skills. Defines and communicates holistic value propositions by integrating clinical, economic, and humanistic evidence relevant to regional healthcare decision making. Uses appropriate evidence sources, including real-world evidence and health economics data, to support outcomes focused dialogue. Translates regional insights into actionable input that informs medical planning, evidence needs, and access strategies. Applies strategic thinking to align scientific engagement with regional objectives, account priorities, and healthcare system needs. Engages in effective, two-way scientific communication to build trusted relationships with healthcare decision makers. Collaborates across cross-functional partners and the Integrated Field Team (IFT) to support aligned execution and insight generation.
