Job Description

**Position Summary** Northern Red is seeking a highly motivated **Law Enforcement Grant Researcher \& Writer** to identify, research, develop, and manage grant opportunities that support law enforcement training, officer safety, tactical readiness, and public safety initiatives. This position serves two primary missions: * Secure grant funding for Northern Red to expand training programs, research initiatives, and public safety services. * Assist law enforcement agencies in identifying and obtaining federal, state, and private grant funding to bring Northern Red's training programs to their officers. Key ResponsibilitiesGrant Research * Monitor federal, state, and private grant opportunities relevant to: * Law enforcement training * Officer wellness * Tactical readiness * Active shooter preparedness * School safety * Homeland Security * Emergency management * Community policing * Firearms training * Technology and equipment * Maintain an organized database of grant opportunities and application deadlines. * Track recurring funding cycles and agency eligibility requirements. * Research emerging grant programs before they become widely known. Grant Writing * Prepare compelling grant proposals and supporting documentation. * Coordinate with Northern Red leadership and instructors to gather technical information. * Develop narratives, budgets, timelines, and measurable outcomes. * Ensure proposals comply with all grant requirements. * Edit and improve applications before submission. Client Grant Support * Work directly with police departments, sheriff's offices, state agencies, and other public safety organizations. * Help agencies determine grant eligibility. * Recommend funding opportunities based on departmental needs. * Assist clients with grant applications to fund Northern Red training programs. * Provide templates, supporting documentation, budgets, and program descriptions. Strategic Funding Development * Build relationships with grant administrators and funding organizations. * Identify partnerships that improve competitiveness. * Recommend new Northern Red programs that align with funding priorities. * Track legislative and funding trends affecting public safety grants. Compliance \& Reporting * Maintain grant calendars and submission schedules. * Track awarded grants and reporting requirements. * Assist with post\-award documentation when necessary. * Maintain organized records of all submissions and outcomes. Desired Qualifications * Bachelor's degree preferred (Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Communications, English, Public Policy, or related field). * Experience writing successful grants strongly preferred. * Excellent research and analytical skills. * Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational abilities. * Ability to understand government funding requirements. * Comfo
